Der Amerikaner Justin Thomas hat sich mit seinem Sieg bei der BMW Championship in Medinah zurückgemeldet. Der Ort, an dem Team USA 2012 seine bisher bitterste Niederlage im Ryder Cup aka “Miracle of Medinah” kassierte, wurde für JT zur Comeback Station. Welch tiefe Scores der für viele beste Pound-for-Pound Driver schießen kann, durften seine Kollegen im Medinah County Club erleben. 25 unter Par, mit einer 61 in Runde 3 (natürlich Platzrekord) reichten aus um den ersten Saisonsieg unter Dach und Fach zu bringen.
Nummer Eins
Durch den ersten Sieg seit gut einem Jahr übernahm der Amerikaner auch die Führung im FedEx Cup und wird in Atlanta als Topfavorit an den Start gehen. “Ich weiß nicht wie das in Atlanta werden wird, da es so etwas ja in der Geschichte des Golfsports noch nie gab. Aber ich weiß, dass meine Ausgangsposition deutlich besser ist als in der Woche zuvor.” so Thomas

With his impressive W at the BMW Championship at Medinah Justin Thomas proved that he is back on track. On the stage where Team USA were handed their toughest defeat in Ryder Cup history (The Mircale of Medinah 2012) Thomas seemed unflappable all week long. The best pound for pound hitter on Tour got his game going and shot 25 under Par with a 61 course record in round 3 to win for the first time this season.

With his first W in a year Thomas jumped to the top spot in the FedEx Cup ranking and will head to Atlanta as the favorite. “There’s nobody in the history of this sport that has experienced it, so nobody knows. I know that I’m in a lot better position than I was at the start of the week”
